Ebbsfleet Academy ran three Academy Days last year and due to their success, it was decided to run another three this year. All year groups will participate in activities either on or off-site. The itinerary for the Academy Day held on 14th October included a visit to Chatham Dockyard; a trip to Herne Bay and Reculver Country Park; a walking tour of London and the Tate Gallery; an SRE Day – exploring issues of sexual health; and performing arts workshops (culminating in performances of ‘EA The Musical’).

During the SRE Day, Year Nines worked with practitioners and doctors from the local community to explore various topics concerning sexual health. They discussed contraception, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections in the morning and were then split into Houses. The House teams then created presentations on their findings and presented them to leadership staff towards the end of the day.

The performances of ‘EA the Musical’ were a huge success. Throughout the morning, students worked together in their Houses to plan and rehearse their plays. After this intense creative session, the plays were performed in a competition for House points.
