Last month, Pixie Lott officially unveiled High Weald Academy’s new sports hall.

As the first sports college in the country, the Academy has always been determined to offer the best facilities possible and the new £1.2million sports hall underlines this determination.

Pixie opened the sports hall as an ambassador of Cardiac Risk in the Young. This is a cause that means a lot to High Weald, as former pupil, Nicola Payne, died from heart failure whilst playing sports at the Academy.

All pupils wore purple (Nicola’s favourite colour) to mark the occasion and the new sports hall was dedicated to her memory. Pixie performed songs including her new single ‘Lay me Down’ and answered questions from the excited audience.
