Planning permission granted for The High Weald Academy
Planning Permission has been granted for The High Weald Academy's new building, with works commencing in early January.
The High Weald Academy is looking forward to welcoming the construction team from Bowmer and Kirkland on site in January.
"This is the fantastic news we have been waiting to being able to share with our students, families and staff for so long. We will now have a suite of classrooms and facilitates to be proud of and which will demonstrate to our whole community the great value and importance we place on our students’ learning experiences." Mrs Taylor - Co-Principal.
The High Weald Academy is a small rural school which prides itsself on the family ethos and culture which comes from knowing each student for their individual talents, interests and abilities. The significant investment being made to the academy will mean that students will have access to a new learning resources centre, drama studio and suite of music classrooms and practice spaces. There will be three new art classrooms alongside the new dining facilities as well as two specialist science laboratories and five general science laboratories on the second floor. English, maths, humanities and modern foreign languages will all also be located in the new building.
We are very fortunate that we will not need to utilise any temporary accommodation during the construction phase. The demolition of the old buildings is the final phase of the work and will mark the completion of this exciting project.
We will be sharing the journey from ‘breaking ground’ to moving in via our website and Twitter page and very much look forward to seeing the new building come to life over the next eighteen months.
