Head of English/Associate Assistant Principal

The High Weald Academy
Our vision is simple – to ensure that all of our students achieve beyond our expectations and flourish as confident learners with the highest aspirations, ready for the university or careers of their choice and also ready for the world in which they will work and live. We are relentless in our pursuit of the very best for all our students.
We are looking to appoint our next inspirational and dynamic leader of English to lead us in achieving exceptional things with our students and to develop a creative and innovative curriculum. For the right ambitious candidate there is also the chance to play a key role as part of the senior leadership team. This is an ideal opportunity for a successful colleague to consolidate their experience in a high impact environment whilst gaining experience for their next step.
Later this year we will be moving in to our state of the art new building which means that you will have the chance to establish the highest expectations and standards in a brand new and purpose built learning environment.
You will have a proven record of raising attainment and accelerating progress. Your previous experience as a leader is less important to us than your clear vision on what can be achieved for our students and your team of committed and dedicated staff as well as your ability to motivate and inspire. Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their starting point can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives.
You will have access to on-going development opportunities and the support of a forward thinking, successful multi-academy trust. You will be joining a team of strong and experienced school leaders who will do whatever it takes to help you to succeed in your new and exciting role.
High Weald is a small, non-selective co-educational academy that serves the communities of Cranbrook, Staplehurst and the surrounding areas, where every student on roll is supported and challenged to reach their own personal excellence.
Start date: September 2019 (or earlier if possible)
