Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

The Hayesbrook School in Tonbridge requires a Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy admin team. The role is 37 hours per week, term time only, plus 12 days during the school holidays (including INSET days).
You will be responsible for maintaining the professional appearance and calm running of the busy reception area, operating the Academy’s main telephone system, greeting visitors and undertaking ID/vetting checks and providing medical support to our students.
In addition to your reception duties you will also be required to provide general administrative support to the Academy including, responding to email enquiries, updating student records, supporting school activities and events. Previous experience of working in a school office environment is desirable but not essential.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a friendly, professional and engaging manner
- Have a ‘can do’, solution focused approach when dealing with students, staff, parents and visitors to the academy
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment with a calm and unflappable disposition
- Have good oral and written communication skills
- Be a confident user of IT systems, including Word and Excel
- Be highly organised with a flexible approach to day to day work activities
- Be a great team player with a willingness to support the needs of others
- Have a sense of fun
